Friday 1st October - Quebec City - My Birthday

More heavy rain today so more sheltering under an umbrella trying to keep the lens clean.  Went across on a ferry to Levis which is the town facing Quebec City across the St Lawrence River.  It's here that the French last attacked the British trying to win back New France and they actually won the battle but in the treaty of Paris in 1763, the French signed over Canada to Britain.  Here are today's random set of photos.  We join the cruise tomorrow so don't know when there will be another blog entry.

A bientot.

  1. Happy Birthday Dave :)

Like the first shot, nice colour from reflections of the wet pavement. Bad luck on the weather, not been too good here last week although today is nice.

Enjoy the cruise and hear from you soon.

  2. Happy Birthday for yesterday Dave. Quebec looks lovely. Looks as though it could be in Europe somewhere. I like the the breakfast hamper - nice idea. Shame about the weather.

Me and Bob are in the caravan this weekend at Grange over Sands. Lovely site and lovely place, full of award winning pie shops and bakers etc. Not much else though. Had a nice sunny day yesterday and walked up top of Hampsfell. Stunning views over Morecambe bay. Lovely.

Have you ever seen 'raining cats and dogs' in Grange over Sands - well we have! Now! Miss you guys. Wish we were over there with you. You'll be doing your cruise to Boston soon - Hope weather is stunning for you and look forward to seeing the autumn pics. Lots of love Cruickys xxxx Blimey this Cumbrian rain!
