Monday 11th Oct (Columbus Day) - Williamstown to White River Junction

Here's the motel - The Maple Terrace Inn which is run by a Swedish couple.

It's getting near Halloween night
Set off about 11 after doing a bit of washing and took the scenic Vermont highway 100 via Wilmington, Jamaica, Londonderry, Ludlow, Claremont and Windsor to White River Junction (about 150 miles).  Sadly there had been a very dry summer in Vermont and therefore the fall had come early and we had missed a lot of it.  We stopped at D & Ks in Jamaica to pick up a butty and to write a couple of postcards - the Americans sure know how to fill a sandwich - unbelievable - Jean had to remove half the filling before she could take a bite!  Of course I put the spare filling into mine!

Lots of photo ops along the way including the longest two span covered bridge in the world built in 1866.

The Burning Bush shrubs look good at this time of the year......
The views along the road............

And the photo op stops ...................

Driving back to Boston tomorrow for our last two nights.
