Tuesday 14th Sept - Thousand Islands

Thousand Islands - 30 miles from Kingston and home of the salad dressing invented by Oscar of the Waldorf Hotel!  Picked up the 12:30 boat for a cruise up the St Lawrence River from near the source at Lake Ontario.  To be classed as one of the thousand islands, there must be at least 2 trees and the island must me at least 6 square feet.  Tha US/Canadian border runs down the middle of the St Lawrence river and there are various customs posts along the way.  There are some fantastic sights and here are just a few of them.

And finally a proud moment - to be pictured outside Tim Horton's after being given our special presentation mug.

And finally we rounded off a lovely evening with a game of Scrabble and were all taught a lesson by Jean who set up an unbeatable score by putting a simple word "DENT" down, leaving her open to make it into "IDENTIFY" on her next turn which spanned two triple word squares and gave her a total of 126 points for the one word (14 points tripled twice)!  The rest of us sat back in awe!

Off to Wineries tomorrow.
