Tuesday 21st Sept - Ottawa

Rod (Uncle Duncan's son, Jim's brother) & Jennifer came into Ottawa to meet us for breakfast in the Indigo Hotel.  It was great to meet them - each time I meet another relative in Canada, it brings home to me how small our family contingent is in the UK.
We then piled back into Jim's car and did some more Ottawa sights which included the Indian Culture museum and an area on the Ottawa Rinver where an artist has made a vast number of Inukshuks, figures and sculptures out of balancing rocks on top of each other and amazingly people haven't wrecked them and the weather hasn't washed them away.

We then went back to the market for a wander around and lunch and said goodbye to Jim and Bonnie who have been great company for the last 9 days and we're really grateful for their hospitality.

It was then on to the Parliament Building (Canada's national parliament) which was modelled on our house of commons (and in fact is called the same) for a tour.  This started in the Peace Tower which offers great views over the city and also has a clock like ours with 53 bells that make a predictable racket.

Worn out by now!

Off to Montebello in Quebec province tomorrow.
